Dr. Joseph P. Olson - President
Dr. Olson’s education began with his high school diploma from Lake Park High School in Lake Park, Minnesota. Since then, he has obtained an A.A. Degree from Florida College, a B.A. Degree from Western Kentucky University, an M.A. Degree from University of North Alabama, an Ed. S. Degree from University of Alabama, and an Ed. D. Degree from the University of Alabama. He first came to ABS in 1971 as a Social Studies, Bible, and Economics teacher. He initially served as Assistant Principal for a year, and has now been serving as President for 22 years. He currently preaches at Locks Cross Roads Church of Christ. He is very active in the community. He currently serves as the State Beta Club Vice-Chairman. He is also a member of the Committee of Practitioner Title Funds, the State Council of Migrant Workers, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and the National Council of Curriculum Development. He is married to Ramona, and has four children: Adam, Leah, Eric, and Anna.
Chris Duke - Assistant Principal  Chris Duke has obtained the following degrees: a high school diploma from West Point High School in West Point, Alabama, an A.A. Degree from Florida College (1989), a B.S.Ed. from UNA (1992), an M.A.Ed. with emphasis in History from UNA (2002), and an Ed. Administration add-on to M.A.Ed. from UNA (2005). He has been at ABS since 1992. He has taught American History, World History, Health, and Physical Education, has coached track, golf, softball, and basketball, and has sponsored the ABS History Club. He currently worships with the Pepper Road church of Christ in Athens. He is also a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He is married to Jill Leopard ('88) and has two children: Gabel and Josie.
Greg Chandler - Dean of Students  Greg Chandler attended Athens Bible School from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and Florida College from 1985-1987. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of North Alabama in 1989. He has taught at Athens Bible School from 1990 through the present, excluding a one year leave of absence in 1993-1994 to preach and teach in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has taught in every area of social studies, and through the years has sponsored the Beta Club, yearbook, and various classes, including two times as the junior class sponsor. He is married to Pam and is the father of Adam, Ethan, and Isaiah.
Bill Murrell - Guidance Counselor  Bill Murrell has obtained the following degrees: a high school diploma from Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis, Indiana, an A.A. Degree from Florida College, a B.S. ED. Degree from Athens College, and an M.A. Degree from University of North Alabama. He has been a member of the faculty at Athens Bible School since 1970, and has taught all levels of Math, P.E., Health, & Bible. He has been the guidance counselor since 1980, and was the Assistant Principal from 1985–2003. He is the Student Council Sponsor, and has also served as a Class Sponsor. He has served as an athletic director and coach, in baseball, cross-country, track, and junior high basketball. He currently worships with the Eastside church of Christ, having served as a deacon and currently as an elder. He is married to Burnetta and is the father of Brent, Brad, and Brittney. home
