History Class Activities
The latest project of the ABS History Club, sponsored by Mr. Greg Chandler and Mr. Chris Duke, was to restore the Freedom Shrine, a display of 18 historic documents, that was originally placed in the school by the Exchange Club in the 1960s. Students raised the money needed and worked around the campus, along with helping Mr. Moore with the preparation of the wall. The result of their efforts is a very striking display, as seen above.

Mr. Chandler's 8th grade history class recently took time to explore the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah. Since the holiday fell during the time the class was studying the ancient Jews, parents of class members prepared a wide variety of foods that are traditionally served by Jews during the holiday. Students also took time to research various customs and beliefs associated with this Jewish celebration of their new year.
